To help curb Suicide among our returning Combat Veterans and Promote comradery and healing
Airborne training and refresher training (refresher for those already qualified), to help heal and bring together Veterans of all walks of life who have answered the call and served in Combat.
DUNELLON, FLORIDA FEB 21-26th 2023 – W&R Vets at X-35 AIRBORNE SCHOOL to host 22 Mohawks and an assortment of Veterans from around the Country, promoting a SUICIDE PREVENTION theme, letting all of our Veterans know there is help out there and other ways to look at quelling that anxiety and feeling of hopelessness. The event is meant to get the word out about places for comradery, training and resilience that already exist but are not well known as they should be. X-35 is one of 5 places that Provides the Training for those seeking Round Canopy Parachuting, which is still taught at FT. Benning GA. Today for those who are fortunate enough to have it in their contract or job description upon entering the armed services.
The Training at these schools is a scaled down version of the Army school although the candidate must be fit and have no infirmities etc., they must still be able to pass a small fall from a platform, this is called a PLF or Parachute Landing Fall. Candidates must do this 3 times before proceeding to the entry phase upon arriving at the school. Once there, they in-process like any other school and it’s a military or (Para-Military) experience thereafter. This feeling of being back is what starts the experience for most of our Veterans which starts the healing process. As they in-process, they realize everyone there is just like them in some way or another with similar experiences, and like circumstances. It becomes a welcomed environment and before you know it, they are on their way to Healing! After all, it’s more than a jump.
